Ylh\u00e4isten farm is a modern agricultural and forestry company and family farm that is over 100 years old. The farm’s fields are located in Paimio and Hajala in Salo. There are approximately 200 hectares of our own and rented fields in cultivation. Due to the crop rotation, we vary the crops we grow seasonally. Currently, we grow rye, winter wheat, spring wheat, oats, horse grass and sugar beet. In addition, there is a zone of grassland along the waterfronts<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our operations are guided by the constant desire to develop and improve our actions, and to act responsibly for the environment. Working with nature requires continuous monitoring of the environment and weather conditions. We prefer year-round plant coverage in our fields. As a sowing method, we mainly use direct sowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The buildings of the farm are heated up with renewable energy, a wood-fired heating plant located on the farm. We mainly use wood from our own forest trees. In 2017, solar panels were installed to produce clean solar energy for the needs of turkey houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
